Most Poetic Songs

Monument by A Day to Remember is one of the most poetic songs ever. There are a lot of poetic devices used in this song other than alliteration and imagery. There is internal rhyme where is says "Get so far away from here with you my dear." The internal rhyme is here and and dear. This is also narrative poetry. This is a story about a boy going through life with many fears and not knowing what to do because he wants to stay, but he also wants to live out his dream. There is also a symbol in the song. The symbol is when it says "it's been a long road." This is a symbol of life saying how nothing much has changed and he is forced to live the life he is living, but only at the moment. There is also a metaphor in the beginning of the song. The metaphor is "Nobody knows the troubles I've seen. In a van on a soapbox for the world to see." This is a metaphor of all the wrong things that people do to others, that no one really notices but it happening right in front of them. These are just a few examples as to why this song should be one of the top 100 most poetic songs.
