Euphony through Loss through Country Music
"Independence Day" by Martina McBride is a song with a lot of euphony. One example of a euphony is when it says, "She tried to pretend he wasn't drinking again, but daddy left the proof on her cheek." This is a softer way of saying that the father in the song is an abusive alcoholic. Another example of euphony is when it says "Well she lit up the sky that fourth of July. By the time that the firemen come, they just put out the flames and took down some names." This is a softer way of saying that the mom killed herself and the father.
